BFD is always happy to accept offers of assistance from people. If you have experience, a skill or interest that you are willing to contribute to our work for 6 or 12 months then please contact us. Whether your skill is in social and rural development work in communities, organization or business management, IT, or teaching, BFD will look to welcome you and discuss possible placements.

Mr Ron Davies has worked in Cambodia for many years. After a well deserved holiday break with family and friends back in Adelaide Australia, Ron responded positively and graciously to a request to provide some of his time as a volunteer at BFD in Battambang. Ron has worked to consolidate and improve BFD's corporate accounting and the result has been excellent.

Looming problems need urgent attention

Cambodia has a hugely youthful population (approx 70% of population is less than 30 years old, 50% less than 20 years old). Successful engagement of these young people in all aspects of society is critical for Cambodia’s future welfare. Projects linking youth especially rural youth, into formal education, governance, politics and local community development, and into ethical and moral frameworks that support community cohesion are very much needed. These and other new BFD project areas would welcome support from donors.
